Newborn Photography

There's no denying that newborn photography has become increasingly popular in recent years, and for good reason. As a new parent, you'll find that time passes by in the blink of an eye, and before you know it, your little one will no longer be a newborn. That's why it's essential to capture those first few weeks of your baby's life through newborn photography.

Newborn photography can help you create beautiful, long-lasting memories of your baby's earliest days. These photos are not just about capturing your baby's tiny toes and delicate fingers; they're about capturing the love and emotions that come with welcoming a new life into the world. These photographs will be a cherished reminder of this special time in your family's life.

Newborn photography also provides an opportunity to document the growth and development of your baby over time. As your child grows, you can look back on these photos and see how much they've changed and how far they've come. These images can be used to create stunning keepsakes, such as photo albums or canvas prints, that you can display in your home and pass down to your child as they grow up.

Finally, newborn photography can be a valuable tool for connecting with your newborn. During the photo shoot, you'll have the opportunity to spend quality time with your baby and create a strong bond that will last a lifetime. By capturing these precious moments, you'll have something to look back on and remember those early days with your little one.

These photographs will be treasured for a lifetime, and provide an opportunity to bond with your newborn and celebrate this special time in your family's life.

FAQ

When to Book Your Newborn Photography Session?

It is best to book your due date while still pregnant to secure your spot. It is best to secure a spot early as I do book up quickly and only take a limited amount of newborns per month to allow for flexibility with early/ late births.
It is best to book as early as possible so that it is one less thing on your baby to-do list! As newborns are best photographed from 5-14 days old while they are super cuddly and sleepy, it is important to set aside the time to secure a session. If your baby is already here, don't stress, while the ideal time for photo's is 5-14 days your portraits can be taken at anytime, I'll just adjust the poses to suit your baby.

What happens in a Newborn Photography Session?

A session with me is quite an intimate experience as you are entrusting me to handle, soothe and pose your precious newborn and you spend about 3 hours with me. I try to make the newborn photography session as comforting and relaxing as possible. These sessions can take place in my home in Riddells Creek (3431) or in your home.

I always say that during a session the baby is the boss as I like to go with the flow and allow baby to tell me how he/she feels. I allow plenty of time for feeding and settling and I work with the mood of baby and modify our session for this. During the session I use a wide variety of props sourced from Australia suppliers.

What happens after the session?

After our newborn photography session is where the magic (and most time spent) happens! This is where I spend up to 15 hours professionally editing each image to my own personal style that I have developed over the years. Newborns can be very red, jaundice, spotty and flakey as their precious skin adjusts to the outside world. Don’t worry, your newborn’s skin will look perfect in your images! Your online viewing gallery will be ready up to 2 weeks after your session and will have a minimum of 40 images on it. You then select your favourite images and decide on your package!

Does the session fee included family/Sibling?

Of course! In every session I encourage you to get involved. These are your family portraits so I'm happy to photograph anyone who you would like to be involved.

Do I need to bring props?

The short answer is no. However if you have anything special to you that you would like to use in your portraits please feel free to bring them along. These items, such as a hand knitted blanket from your nan, will help to personalise your portraits.

How much does newborn photography cost?

My newborn session fee is only $50 prints and products are additional. Prints start at $75 and packages from $300. Please contact me for further details.
